The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. (Psalm 146:9)
I was born Blanca Velez, January 1977, in Bogota, Colombia. At two months old, I was adopted by a wonderful, loving couple who took me into their hearts and home in Brooklyn, NY.
I started writing when I was eight. It is one of my great catharses, the other being music. I can make better sense of the Universe when I put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard.
God has been in pursuit of me from early on. I thought I could get away from Him; silly me! Even when I was on the run, I knew He was there. He would send people and situations my way to remind me that He had His eye on me, and how did I think I would outpace Him? I've had more than one experience of grace to tell you that He's got a good grip on me. I am done trying to run from Him. It took me a while, but I'm finally ready to learn obedience.
This blog is a small attempt to thank God for the blessings in my life, to thank him for the sacrifice of His Son, to ask for emboldening through the power of the Holy Spirit, and to worship and praise Him as I hammer through my side of our relationship.
